Shipping policy

Because of our high volumes and negotiated discounts with a select group of freight companies, we can offer you the lowest possible shipping charges. Orders are shipped prepaid, which means that the shipping charges are paid at the time of your order.

In the U.S.A. and Canada, Norwood band sawmills and oversize orders ship by common-carrier freight truck directly to your residence or business so it is important that your delivery address is easily accessible to a tractor-trailer. Shipped in knock-down form, we package oversize orders on a 4’ x 4’ (1.2 m x 1.2 m) and 4’ x 6’ (1.2 m x 1.8 m) pallets and we band and stretch-wrap your order for secure shipping.

Most trucking companies require the driver to bring the shipment to the back of the truck. Because your sawmill order is shipped in knock-down form and consists of individual pieces and boxes each weighing up to 100 lb, you can offload your order box by box and do not necessarily need special forklift equipment. If you cannot manage weights up to 100 lb, you may want a helper to assist you to unload your order.

You or your designated agent must be present to accept the order and off-load it. If no one is at the delivery address to accept the order, redelivery and storage charges may apply. After your order has shipped, you may want to call the trucking company to confirm date of delivery; call us to obtain your carrier name and phone number, shipment tracking number and ship date.

If you would like to pick-up your sawmill order direct from one of Norwood’s factory warehouses, call us at least three (3) business days in advance so that we can have your order ready. You will need a pick-up truck, full-size van or enclosed trailer to pick up your sawmill or oversized order.

Freight Deliveries:

Freight Delivery Carriers cannot travel on or deliver to any of the following:

  • Any unpaved/gravel roads
  • Dead end or cul-de-sac streets regardless of where the dead end is
  • Private property regardless of paved/unpaved status and amount of room to turn around
  • Any areas with low hanging wires, vegetation or bridges, and any low weight limit bridges or roads
  • Anywhere they have to back up
  • Any roads/streets that do not have enough room for two full size highway trucks to pass side by side fully on roadway
  • Any roads/streets that do not have a shoulder large enough at delivery site for truck to get fully off roadway to effect delivery safely for the driver and yourself

Faced with any of these circumstances, they will not deliver to the address and may require delivery at alternate location or depot. Redelivery or surcharges may apply which would be your responsibility if not disclosed at time of sale. Please call us if you are unsure about this information, and placing your order online.

Terms and Conditions for flat rate shipping

*Flat Rate Shipping is eligible with the purchase of a new Norwood band blade sawmill and is limited to products purchased on the same invoice that must include one of the following products: MN27-0013G, LM30-0013G, LM30-0013G-E, LM30-0014G, LM30-0018G, HD36V2-PRO18G, HD36V2-PRO23G, HD36V2-PRO10E, HD36V2-PRO15E, HD38-MAX23G, HD38-MAX27G and LX26V2-0013G. Flat Rate Shipping is based on the lowest-price shipping method and assumes all items are delivered together to a single address within the Continental U.S.A. or Canada. In situations where air delivery, waterborne or over the ice transport is the only option to reach certain remote areas, flat rate shipping is not available and additional shipping charges may apply. Changes made to the shipping address after an order has shipped that result in additional shipping fees, redirect fees, or delivery delays are the responsibility of the customer and will be at the customer’s expense. The flat rate shipping offer does not apply to previous purchases. Shipping and taxes not included in the advertised price. Norwood Industries Inc. reserves the right to modify the flat rate shipping charge, discontinue the flat rate shipping program, or make changes to these Terms and Conditions at its discretion.
